Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

The Stripe

This had so much potential until I had to get some dark in the stripe. I fear all is lost but the idea was good. Posted by Picasa

All is not lost with that stripe. Paint over most of it with white, then add another color. Heck, it's only paint.

We sang happy birthday to Libby last night... wish you had been here for a song, too.

My favorite one is the leaves, but I still like the stripe too. Why not do the stripe idea in two color ways? You could add even more dark to the one you started and then do a whole new one sticking to the light to medium shades you started with.

Well actually I like this. If you added the dark edges to the other vertical stripes it would work.

Frankly, m'dear, I like the dark - keeps the piece from being too sweet. Keep going.
