Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Flinders Street Walk

Went back to bed and woke up at 11:45 a.m. Of coursse, got cabin fever. Who can stay inside when you have so little time in one place? Instead of my long walks that I usually take just did a short 30 minute tour. I walk fast so that takes in a lot of territory. The top left is 525 Flinders..note the great sculpture of their street number. Both of the photos on the bottom are views of the Rialto Hotel. Sitting right in the middle of commerce and industry, this gorgeous piece of the past. Wasn't brave enough to go inside just to take pictures but can only imagine. Posted by Picasa

You should put your head inside the Rialto Hotel - it is as magnificent on the inside as it is on the outside. I've never stayed but the concierges seem to be quite OK with people who just want to go in and look (if not use the excuse that you were checking out the menu and decided against it..)
