Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Whole cloth? Of course, it would be super fantastic. Though I don't think it's too large scale to cut up. That could be super fantastic also. And I spent some time straightening the pantry last week and nobody noticed. Don't bother.
Go for it!! That could be a really fun whole cloth piece.
My vote is for whole cloth! and "groovy" is one of my favorite words ;)
My pantry only gets cleaned when I can't get into it anymore (it's 7' x 14'). So forget it. Come to think about it, I only clean the house when I have something else to avoid or when company is coming.
As for the beautiful fabric....go for it!! But, if you can't figure out what to do with it you can pop it in the mail to me! I would be happy to figure out something!!
Beautiful waistline....I am VERY jealous!!

if this were my fabric, I would use the design as the repeat in a new work. First I would switch it to a vertical orientation, and then I would remake it in three or four panels in colors that shift in value or combination. I would make one of the panels in a reduced scale of the same design. I would leave off any doodads and just outline quilt the design since it is the STAR OF THE SHOW.
And of course it would be done by the end of the week because I would fuse it all and machine quilt it all and have no binding giving me fits. Then I would grab a nice duet of stemware, a cool bottle Mouton Cadet Bordeaux and invite Ronnie to join me for a toast on the floor of the pantry, saying, I've fallen and I can't get up.
Definitely you should go for it! Think about doing all the sorts of things you don't usually do. Try new techniques you've always wondered about. Make it so that NO ONE will guess it's yours but isn't it wonderful! Who needs just one style? One style for every day of the year! One style for every mood! One style for every star in the sky! Sorry, guess I just got carried away...
It gorgeous and powerful the way it is. Melody might be right, I can't decide if I like it horizontal or vertical better. It's good both ways, might depend on the space it is hung. Go for it, have fun, and forget the pantry! Sometimes you learn a lot about yourself when you're having fun!
