Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Not Abducted by Aliens

Wouldn't you just know that in my haste packing I forgot my power cord to the laptop so after the first day of downloading mail the battery went dead. I am sure I have lost my faithful readers due to the long traveling schedule I have been on but I'm back....and will be home until 26 March. Sigh of relief!
We had a great time at Quilting Adventures and I highly recommend it to those of you who love having four and a half days with one instructor. The facility is beautiful...pictures to follow...great food and is in the middle of the most beautiful part of Texas...the Hill Country.
Now that I'm home for what I consider an extended period of time there is so much work to do I don't know where to start. Gotta get the leaf abstract quilt ready for Houston, still experimenting with the peltex and still painting for Eric...really for myself. However I do promise faithfully to post on a more regular basis. I truly miss blogging when I don't get to do it. Looks as if you have all been busy and having a great time. Stay tuned for more pictures of the retreat and works in progress. It is good to be home.

Welcome home, I kind of figured you were teaching somewhere. Either that or holed up in an attic painting :) Jen

I have missed you! Especially as I am having to make do with the vicarious pleasure of reading about other people's art work on their blogs as I can't get to any creative work myself while the grand kids are with me! Not that I'm complaining of course! Grin!

Hi Gabrielle,
I missed you! I checked every day, and looked through your posts to see if you were going on a trip or something.. I was starting to get worried! Welcome back, thanks for all of the great pics. By the way, my mini pineapple was accepted into the Paducah show. It's going to be a week long party for me when I get there.
