Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Self Portrait 7 March 06

Time....the one thing we can never replace. I chose for my time 8 a.m. Not like I just got up...just got going. I am admittedly a night owl but I like seeing the sun and if I sleep to late I feel like I missed a train...so I get up at 6 a.m. but just don't move until much later. Will try to find a more creative time for next week. Please not how cleverly I disguised the weight on the scales and how lazy I am about macking the bed.....after all you are just going to get in and mess it up again. Some cleaning of the office, paying bills and finally off to sew.
What is this constraint we place on ourselves called time? It is obviously external and necessary for commerce but I feel nature is trying to tell my body something about my own clock....and I am listening as hard as I can. Things world has just gotten ahead of me and I am dancing as fast as I can to catch up. Posted by Picasa

I also noticed how you hid "your true hair color"... in these photos! Like you, I get up but don't get moving for a couple hours. Sit in a chair watching the news, drinking coffee and checking things out online...

Nice set of photos, Gabrielle, and cunningly put together! Boy, you've got a bad case of gremlins there. The Tidy Fairy just hasn't visited me recently....
