Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Almost Ready to Quilt

Shiva paint sticks only covering some white areas the dye missed

I know y'all are sick of this already but that never stopped me before. Finished the NeoColor and Shiva paint sticks today. Sure do wish you could see this in real life...so much more effective. Now have to wait at least 48 hours for the Shiva to dry before heat setting. May do some colored pencil before I layer it to quilt but basically it is done.

So what else have I done today? Nada. After finising the painting, I have been totally worthless. Of course, if I hadn't blogged twice today that might have made a difference. Truth be known, I am in avoidance mode. There is no food in the house and I just can't bring myself to go to the grocery store. Since there is only the two of us, the grocery store has become a pain. I am tired of trying to think of something to cook...tired of having to do dishes. Basically, just want to be left alone to do art.....but can't do that because I feel guilty over not being a "good" wife. How neurotic is that?

My head is so full of ideas that I can't work fast enough to get them out. Yes, Mel dahling, I know if I fused they would all be done in a week.....but I don't even own a sliver of Wonder Under. Plus there is that pesky hand quilting part which I keep hanging on to like a dog with a bone. Well, that just convinced me it will be pizza night at the Swain's and I will get off my butt away from this computer and get myself in the studio.

I promise not to post again until tomorrow.Posted by Picasa

I have a proposition. There are several of us with only 2 adults in the house. Let's post menus for week or so.. and then we can trade out what everyone else is cooking!!

Still all the work, but fresh ideas for menus!!

Do I get a gold star for taking a shower and washing my hair?

But I love you posting. The more the better. It gives me something to read when I'm also in 'avoidance' mode! Better to have too many ideas than too few. Write them down and then they will be there for whenever the time frees up.....if ever!
