Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Leaves. I really feel like you must do leaves. (Though I like this stuff too.)

I love all these designs with "washes". If these are for fabric designs, I think they would be terrific.

JMHO, but if you have some designs that are leaves and flowers and could work in traditional quilts, that will have a broad appeal. If you do the lovely color washes, that will also appeal to the "arty" crowd. Design for both! Make $$$. Jen

OK slap me up the head but what is so great about your stuff is the merging of colour so why are you doing hard lines? JMO Val

Gabrielle,

What are you up to now?

I thought Garielle was kindly letting us into her studio to witness her process, so these are color-block backgrounds, not finished pieces. If Gabrielle wants to 'merge colors' (or add leaves, etc) she can still do that in the next layer. It's great to see the progression.
