Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Crazy Aunt Purl Does It Again

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 - Nov. 21)
Imagine someone sends you a check for ten thousand dollars. It isn't quite enough to quit your job or drop out of school, but it's just enough to get you out of hock and have plenty left over for a spending spree of celebrity proportions. Ok, you're not getting rich this month. But! You do tend to be a little obsessed with money right now, and creative visualization of this kind will help you get your priorities straight. You may discover that you need to budget like a pro and develop some financial goals. Or, you might just say to hell with it and buy some of those non-essentials you've been craving. Either way, you'll be thinking about Retail Therapy, and ... well. It's got the word "therapy" in it, right? So it must be good, right?

How does she know I am obsessing over my new business ventures? And that a nice big check would be great but isn't coming. I am locking away all my credit cards, cancelled the big family Thanksgiving since all the boys have in laws that can feed them ( guess I can make Thom a sandwich) and announced there is a $20 limit on Christmas presents...so you have to really look hard to still find something cool. Way to go Crazy Aunt Purl....now when is that 10K check arriving if not now?

And when that 10K check arrives... new Kate Spade purses all around right?

Gabrielle!!! You know better than to say, "...it isn't coming" when someone suggests visualizing good arriving in our life. I've been so happy for you and the new opportunities that have opened for you as a result of your hard work these past months. But we mustn't forget it is still a grace... rejoice in your wonderful talent, keep creating your beautiful quilts and get those new fabric designs delivered!

Allow the Source to do its own work in its own mysterious way while we daily express gratitude no matter what the current situation looks like. YES!

Of course your new business venture was worth the sacrifice, just look where it is leading you. This is only a little lean time before the abundance, I feel absolutely sure of that.

I hope you were kidding about Thanksgiving..if you really need money to tide you over, can you sell something? Jen

I've never been big on Thanksgiving--usually a time to eat out so I don't have any real problem with a nice turkey sandwich. Interestingly enough, neither does my new husband! So, suit yourself and move on. . . .

Why don't you try selling those boxes of fabric on eBay?
