The painterly piece in progress
As promised, here is the painterly piece in progress...I haven't a clue what I am doing but it sure is exciting. The original drawing was of a river running through a canyon...again from an airplane. Probably not going to convey that image but hey, all art is abstraction of some kind.
The leaf and stone (still waiting for a name) is ready to layer up and quilt but will have to wait until Tuesday.
Tomorrow is a typical Monday....errands for me, errands for Ronnie....necessary but not good for studio work. The gift of the day is yoga at 7 p.m. It makes all the running around worth it.
The question of the day is should we continue the open discussion thread next week? Let me know what you think. We could change from quotes to elements of design or maybe save that for a later date.

I googled "leaf and stone" and found a great article on artist Ana Mendieta. I would have never read without that little clue. Thank you.
Alas, no real suggestions for the name from this.
It is sooooo much fun to work this way...to just let the piece evolve and become itself...things just move through you and into the fabric. Exciting, fun, and turns out some really wonderful work. This is fun to watch.
