Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Self Portrait Tues Dec 20

Since I spend so little time in the kitchen, it seemed appropriate to put myself in the oven. I love the white lines that make me look like I might be incarcerated but still have blue glass as company. With Christmas cooking coming up, my oven and I need to become one again so here we are together awaiting the onslaught. Posted by Picasa

My oven and I are so not friends at this time of year - it's looking like it will be around 100F on Sunday anyway - who needs to add to that, phew! COLD ham, COLD potato and yoghurt salad, COLD curried rice salad, COLD pavlova with marscapone and berries!

Have fun doing your cooking, though - I love having a fmaily dinner, and will miss that this year :-(
