Stella, my computer,(doesn't your computer have a name?) has been all dolled-up with a new hard drive and fan. The backup iso is ready to be installed which computer guru son Craig will do. 'Cuz I ain't touching nothin' for fear of ruining it all. Back to the name, if you don't name your computer, how can you yell at it for not doing what you want? So around our house it sounds like a bad version of "A Streetcar Named Desire." I figure if I can yell at Stella, she will eventually listen up and concede to my wishes. This is often not what happens, but I get it out of my system.
Honestly, where would I be without her? Well, this past week has proven that. We have all become so dependent on instant access that being without it is like going through withdrawal. I was literally forced to work...such a shame, because I couldn't email anyone or post to the blog. It was almost like living in a different not too distant time. Anyway, I am back to loving Stella but she is one the edge having been on my last nerve all week.
Hope you got a chance to see Eric's post on his blog. It is already archived but easy to access since it was just yesterday. If you get a chance, drop by and see what we are working on. Coaching sounds like one of those "yeah, sure" kinda things but again I highly recommend it. My career has now spanned 22 years, on my gawd, that's a whole person, and while I have move forward on my own throughout this time period, this was the push I needed. Unfortunately, you have to think,do lots of work when you would rather be piddling but the results are immediate if you put in the time.
Caity, Claire, Rayna, Gerrie,Trisha and everyone else thanks for the comments. I honestly have to say it was almost an immediate change but actually took about a week before some different work started to come. But still, thank you, thank you for all the encouragement.
Gotta pay the bills..ugh!...but off to the studio to work to see what this week brings....and there will be pictures now since Stella and I are on speaking terms again
Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Do you have a link to Eric's post? I would love to check it out.
Mine is named Chile (yummy - the new mexico green kind - no meat). But it generally behaves and I don't talk to it much.
It's great to hear the work with Eric is going well. Can't wait to see more new stuff!
Gabrielle,
LINKS!! We need a link to the site!!
Nope, my computer doesn't have a name, yet. Probably never will.
My previous two machines were Boris I and II but this one is the B1+ch and with good reason.
