Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Going to bed now

Finally have it the way it needs to be to finish tomorrow. Even though I am still not quite ready for bed, this is off my mind...fresh for tomorrow. As promised, shutting up. Posted by Picasa

It's funny...I have been working on some topographical and arial pieces for the past couple of years (none to completion) and not a single one looks ANYTHING like yours. Isn't it funny how we can both come up with the same basic idea yet go in such different directions??

Gabrielle, thanks for sharing this design process with us. It's so interesting to see how your work evolves. I appreciate that you're not embarrassed or too proud (or too whatever) to show your work in progress. It's very inspiring to see you try different things and address design challenges. I really like where this is going!

I, too, appreciate the ability to observe your design process. For someone with no art training, but a desire to create, it is absolutely fantastic to watch. Thanks so much!

Quite a fresh feeling, Gabrielle - and a very different palette. Wonderfully abstract - is this a new direction????
