Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Important Information for All

Beware! There is a superstition in my family that whatever you are doing on New Year's Day is what you will be spending a lot of time doing throughout the rest of the year. Think about it. My plan, of course, is to be making quilts. Consider yourself warned about house cleaning, cooking, etc.

I am planning on taking down the Christmas tree, so I don't think I have to worry too much about doing that again for another full year.
Happy New Year!

Ok J doesn't know it yet, but after reading this I have decided that tomorrow (today!) I will be sewing, writing, taking photos, reading, and maybe watching a movie. That should cover most of my favorite activities and guarantee them all a place in my 2006, yes? :-)

Oh Bugga. I read blogs, drank a bottle of wine and knitted. Not at all like my plans for 2006! If only I'd read your blog earlier LOL

cheers

Well, so far I've spent a couple of hours on the computer so no change there....

Happy new year, Gabrielle!

Well at least I did the walk so that bodes well for the rest of the year and I did some machining. Plus I was on the computer so as Liz says not a lot of change there. And I haven't eaten too much...yet! So OK I'm doing alright! But I am going to try knitting a pair of ankle socks so is this where it all goes pear shaped because I don't do knitting!

Well, this morning I spent an hour alone with my sketchbook, so that's a good start. Jen

Ha! I got in the Gothe quote, that only leaves you Nietzsche. Muhahahahaha...

Called and raised one. You better be eating some peas with Christy...for every pea brings good luck.

2. There is something suspicious about music, gentlemen. I insist that she is, by her nature, equivocal. I shall not be going too far in saying at once that she is politically suspect.
-Thomas Mann

I see your Nietzche and raise and you a Hegel.

Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.

It is only my great love for you, my mother, that kept me from laying in with Schopenhauer. *grins*

Yippeee...didn't see this until 8 pm Sunday evening...and I spent my day feeding my kids, quilting, knitting, trying out needle felting for the first time, looking for a sweater pattern, reading, blogging a little, and doing just a few dishes. This is gonna be a GOOD year! Oh yeah..and I exercised! Since I want to sketch, guess I'll get out the sketchbook before bedtime....

Thanks, and cheers, Sarah
