Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Lavish Flowers Last Stand

We had a great two days...lots of fun and hard work but as always I have the best students. Even better, after a long night of drawing, the printed patterns for tomorrow's class are sitting in my tote bag....whew! So off tomorrow to learn all the ways to use reverse applique.....thanks to Judy for letting me skip the dinner last night and many thanks to Kathy for a trip to Office Depot to get copies.

Now that the patterns are done, my breathing is slower and my body is less tense. Although having a whirlpool tub in my room has been a saving grace. Tonight will rest easy and be on target in the morning. Not that the Lavish Flowers class was short-changed in any way.....it was when I got back to the room that my mind started doing cartwheels.

The venue is perfect...great class rooms, good food and terrific quiltmakers...what more can you ask? Back home Monday around noon with a few days before the Sacramento trip...think I will spend the entire time in my pj's in the studio. Uh,oh, watch out...thinking out loud could happen when working.

Side bar: Really blew the diet tonight with a piece of chocolate cake...didn't even really want it...it was just there in front of me...and couldn't stop myself. Wonder if tomorrow's clothes will go over the girth.
