Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

What's the deal with everyone's email address missing from the profiles? Too much spam? Tried to reply comments today but couldn't find all the email addresses I needed so as I did in the first week's work post, I am replying to comments in the comments section. If you let a post, your reply is along with your post.
Packing for the trip started today. You should see the dinning room. It looks like a sale on art and quiting supplies. Now to drag out all those summer clothes I have stored....and hope they still fit. Somebody gave me 5 lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas....and if I ever find out who it was they are in real trouble.
Also, got worried about the fact that I haven't been posting any quilt art even though I have been posting art. Never fear this is all about making better art quilts. It is just the process of growth goes faster using paint, pen and ink. The quilts are coming but not for awhile. Diane, please may I have a dispensation during this time?
Taking laptop and camera to Oz so there will be student work to see....and I am pretty sure there will be quilts. Back to stuffing suitcases to stay under the 50 lb limit. Yep, even for international they have lowered the weight limit. How can I possibly pack all the shoes I will need?

We are having a mixture of weather here at the moment... Some of the days have been quite mild by comparison to what we can get... I have my programe for the convention and it looks great... Your classes are sold out apparently... I am hoping to go on the Friday - opening day... I am looking forward to the exhibitions once again... Have a safe trip over...

Oh no, you are going to land here in the middle of a heat wave :-( You know, I was really worried I'd get kicked off the ring 'cause I didn't do any quilting for over 6 months, but I did do art, so I think Diane let me be. I'm back sewing now and I am the better for taking the time to develop some non quilting, artistic skills.
Cheers
Claire
