Things are getting more and more eccentric at Casa de la Swain. Changing styles in my textile work, falling in love again with painting and photography...and then there is the ever illusive quest for continuing creativity through working with Eric Maisel. Still on the road teaching, posting now at the Ragged Cloth Cafe and taking the pledge to keep handmaiden up to date.

Diane's Favorite Things Request

Great idea, Diane...I'll play.

playing with or watching my grandkidlets play with each other, and then waving bye as they go home...all the fun without the responsibility

art that stops me in my tracks

John Coltrane's sax

My daughter in law, Kelly, singing

cosmopolitans with a great group of conversationalists

a page turner book, of any genre

magnificent thunderstorms

the patience of sweet Ronnie with his eccentric wife

shoes, shoes, oh yeah, did I mention shoes

iced chai latte....low fat, of course

and in opposition to that, fried chicken and cream gravy

cobalt blue glass....running out of space...my one collectible

fresh flowers, cut or in the garden

bamboo..want to plant the whole backyard but Ronnie fears it will take over the neighborhood

expensive perfume

many more but probably my very favorite, spending the day in my pj's working in the studio

Side bar: Great class today but major problem. The shipper didn't send the patterns for Sunday's reverse applique class...bleech. Missing dinner tonight to draw up new patterns and rush to Kinko's tomorrow to get copied. The good news is there is a whirlpool hot tub in my room...will be taking advantage of said tub immediately after finishing artwork.
